Cottage Extension Wye

Work: Extension of a grade ii listed cottage
Location: Wye, Kent
Architecture: Contemporary traditional mix

This lovely old cottage in the heart of Wye lacked essential facilities on the ground floor such as WC, Utility and any real aspect to the garden. The clients brief was for a contemporary light and airy garden room with access and a strong visual connection with the garden and with space for a WC and utility area. RBA obtained Planning and Listed Building consent for the scheme which utilises a steel frame to support floor to ceiling glass in the garden room and a brick and Kent peg tiled utility/WC. The project provided significant challenges due to access, level differences, shallow drainage and foundations, but all was overcome and the client is delighted with the result.
