Garden Room Wye

Work: Garden room and access for a grade II listed farmhouse
Location: Wye Kent
Architecture: Traditional

RBA was asked to design a sympathetic garden room able to provide level access into the house and to provide wide views of the garden for a client who has limited independent mobility.

The existing Georgian Farmhouse is raised above the external ground level and the internal window cills are high making it difficult for a wheelchair user to access the house and to connect visually with the garden.

The garden room is a great success, it is light and airy and provides a real connection with the garden. It is used every day by the owner who is delighted with it.
